Using simple elements such as benches, raingardens and paint, we propose to improve Vredeskerkplein and make it an attractive place to relax, meet and enjoy the Vredeskerk frontage and Hommage aan Paradzjanov artwork for residents and shop visitors alike.
The goal is to unlock the true potential of the square by:
- Installing a raingarden to make space for water and biodiversity and create a sense of enclosure and peace away from traffic,
- Adding three benches to provide sitting facing south and the Church, artwork and planting beds,
- Relocating the cycle stands that were installed to prevent people to park on the footway along the hairdresser shop,
- Painting the garage door currently covered of graffities.
We will work with the Gemeente, Netwerk De Pijp, Natuur&Milieuteam Zuid and local residents and businesses to make the plan happen.
